Reflect. Connect. Act.
November 1 - November 3 2019, The Netherlands
ICRA (International Conference on Religion and Acceptance) facilitates a platform for queer Muslims across different social/geographical contexts who are for an open debate on religion/faith and sexuality, sexual orientation and gender identity/expression.
This conference is a follow up to Maruf’s conferences since 2012. Since then the challenging discussion regarding the relationship between religion, sexual orientation, gender identity and sex characteristics is (even more) at the forefront of the international human rights debate.
Structure of the conference
Every year we experimented with the setting and structure of the conference. This year, we are again doing things differently. The conference contains only a private part of a three-day retreat and is only accessible to queer Muslims and those who send in a proposal.
The conference will contain workshops, lectures, screenings, discussions and art projects related to religion/faith and sexuality, sexual orientation and gender identity/expression.
ICRA is organized by Maruf, but we could never do it without our partners
